A few weeks ago Smoochiefrog painted her nails this gorgeous color, and I just had to have it!

Smoochiefrog said "It was created by OPI to help the Lung Cancer Foundation of America & Lung Cancer Cananda in their efforts to raise funds for early detection, diagnosis, and to find a cure."

I'm a sucker for a good cause, especially when there are beauty products involved!

Since I shortened my nails while my broken nail grows out, I decided to do a vampy shade since I think those look best on me with short nails.

I like this one! It's almost black indoors, but outdoors you can see the plum. Reminds me of OPI Lincoln Park At Midnight.

Sad, but true.

I took my solar nails off last night. I have had them for about 2 years now, and my nails need a break. I am excited to get them back to healthy ... anyone have any great tips or products to recommend for repairing brittle and paper thin nails? No pics will be posted just yet of these lovelies ... don't wanna scare anyone - ha, ha! But as soon as they are somewhat decent and grown out a little, I'll be posting again with some of my own fun and fave colors! Thanks for the help, girls! :o)

NOTD: L'Oreal Sheer Heat

L'Oreal Sheer Heat

Oh, this was so disappointing.

I ran across this oldie but goodie yesterday while I was home nursing a cold so I gave it a try. It's at least 12 years old and I wondered how the consistency would be.... but when I opened it up, it seemed perfect.

(You may notice my ring finger nail is significantly shorter than usual... that nail broke during the music festival last week and I'm still upset about it. So I shortened the rest to sort of match.

I did my typical routine Orly Bonder, SH Nail Growth Miracle, two coats of color, and SV top coat.

And it never dried! I was still getting dents and smudges 6 hours later so I took it all off!

I suppose the formula lost something in the 12 years it's been in my bathroom cabinet.... I may try to add some thinner, but I think that may make it too thin! And ideas?

Viva Las Vegas!

It has been a little while since my last post ... I kept the pink tips for a little over a month. Now it is my birthday and hubby and I are heading to Vegas! I decided to go with purple tips (on my nails and my toes!) cuz it's my fave color and would be so fun to rock in Vegas!

Yes, I know you've seen this before. In fact, that's the same pic I posted last time I wore this color.

Last Wednesday I was trying to decide what color to paint my nails the day before we left in hopes that the manicure would still look nice Sunday when we came home. I picked the above shade and it was a winner! I got slight tip wear of course, but because it's such a nice neutral color, you didn't even notice.

And of course, no chips!

This will most likely be my travel main-stay.

NOTD: OPI DS Ruby

Would you look at that crazy tip wear? I painted these last night and used Poshe as my topcoat. I've tried it a few times with some lighter polishes and liked it just fine.

Now, I have to admit I shuffled quite a bit of paper at work today, but I kept noticing red marks on my papers. My polish was rubbing off!

Back to Seche Vite I go.
