Dior Adventure

Dior Adventure
2 coats

I finally got my first Dior.... my first because the brand is quite a bit outside the normal range of what I like to spend on nail polish. But I received a $25 giftcard to Nordstrom in my Glossybox, and since Nordstrom has free shipping, and Dior polish is $25... it seemed like a perfect match!

It really is a nice polish. It applied wonderfully and wore well- I didn't take it off until day 5, and tipwear was my only issue with it. I thought this was a perfect summer color. I have some coral-red impatiens in my front flower bed, and these totally reminded me of the color.

I'm not sure if I plan on purchasing more Dior shades..... but if I get any more giftcards I will certainly think about it!

SinfulColors Full Throttle collection

I was recently sent a shade from the SinfulColors Full Throttle collection to try.

Rain Rubber
1 coat!

I've got to tell you- I was pretty impressed with the coverage I got in just one coat! What a fast mani this makes! Since the finish is meant to be textured, you don't need a topcoat. Removal was also easy- it came right off in my scrubby tub.

FULL THROTTLE
Racy Shades for Summer

Pedal to the medal nail polish ranks big this summer. Think racy shades in rubberized textures.  SinfulColors introduces its Full Throttle collection this summer with a starting lineup of five smoking hot hues that'll put your nails into overdrive.  The ramped-up texturized shades range from radiant red to a powerful punch of purple to fiery orange.

Here, these five race-iest colors are guaranteed to make you look like a champion, on and off the tracks!

Rain Rubber: A brilliant burnout blue
Burn Rubber: A fiery-fueled orange
Race Rubber: A powerful punch of purple
Rubber Ball: A passionate pit stop pink
Red Tired: A racy, radiant red

SinfulColors Full Throttle will be available for $1.99 at Walgreens and other mass retailers in July 2014.

Silk + Satin Collection from SinfulColors

I was recently sent two shades from the SinfulColors Silk + Satin collection to try.

PiPaya (3 coats)

Matte About Blue (3 coats)

Although both applied nicely, I did find I needed three coats to get complete coverage. However, since they dried so fast and don't need a topcoat, I didn't mind a bit! Matte About Blue is my absolute favorite- it's simply gorgeous!

SILK + SATIN
A New Demi-Matte Collection for Summer

Slip into summer with this sinfully luxurious new nail polish collection from SinfulColors.  This NEW demi-matte silk texture in summer brights is a must have fashion accessory. In rich matte shades and lustrous textures, they're guaranteed to add a little sunshine to your summer style.

The SinfulColors Silk + Satin collection features sultry blues, pale banana yellow, fruity coral, even soft silver.  And, for a glamorous twist, add SinfulColors Clear Topcoat on tips, or in creative designs to add a satin shine to these stunning silk shades.

The six silky hues from the Silk + Satin SinfulColors collection clearly indicates a bright summer forecast ahead.

Matte About Blue: A matte-nificent cornflower blue
Pipaya: A soft flash of coral
Prime Purple: A delicate dose of lilac
Real Teal: A quiet mermaid green
Silver Solution: A gentle, shimmering silver
Solar Flux: A subtle touch of yellow

SinfulColors Silk + Satin will be available for $1.99 at Walgreens and other mass retailers in July 2014.

The Nude Manicure: Dermelect

With Awards Season in full force, Dermelect spotted some incredible emerging trends on the Red Carpets of the Met Gala, Cannes Film Festival and Billboard Music Awards. A recurrent beauty trend across the board has been the The Nude Manicure. A refreshing, chic alternative to the perennial bright Summer nail, this toned-down look has added advantages of accenting any color perfectly (as demonstrated below by Emma Stone in fuchsia, Jennifer Lopez in red, and Katie Holmes in yellow) and giving the appearance of long, elegant fingers.

Dermelect Debonnaire (3 coats)

Debonnaire ($14) is a creamy beige that works for all skin tones—the perfect choice for a classic nude mani.

Dermelect Naturale (3 coats)
from the Spring/Summer 2014 Revival Collection

New for SS14, Naturale ($14) is a nude amped up with shimmery peach accent—it goes perfectly with a summer tan.

The Dermelect line is now available at Ulta.

Sally Hansen Smooth & Perfect Color + Care in Dune

Sally Hansen Smooth & Perfect Color + Care in Dune
2 coats

I wish this line was still available! The shades in this line retailed for about $5.50 and were released in 2012. This is a great palate-cleanser and is so soft and pretty. I tried quite a few of the shades from this line and my favorite was Fog, but Dune is a crazy-flattering nude on me.
.
THINK: Let your nails breathe
.
WHAT IT IS: Creamy color and porcelain-smooth perfection in one beautiful polish. The latest trend to hit your fingertips. Nearly naked, barely-there color with plenty of shine. The ultimate in understated elegance, sheer shades and healthy even shine work for every occasion. That’s why Sally Hansen created a chic collection of nude nail polishes that marries the two, Smooth and Perfect Color + Care, the ultimate fusion of perfecting polish and beautifying care.

Designed to hide ridges and imperfections, the uniquely breathable formula promotes stronger, healthier looking nails with a patented technology that allows for up to 20% more oxygen to reach the nail. The result? Ridges and imperfections are virtually erased and nails are left looking smooth, shiny and porcelain perfect

Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Bling-tastic

Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Bling-tastic
2 coats

I thought I had swatched all the Sally Hansen Gem Crush shades I had- some went sent to me, and I purchased a few a while back. But I ran across one I never took a photo of, although I do believe I have worn it.

You can actually get pretty great coverage with these- this swatch is just two coats and other than the pinkie, which could use another coat, my other fingers look great. As a side note, these also work great as glitter toppers over a coordinating base shade. I actually think they wear a bit better that way too.

Here's a shade pic so you can see the glitter shades a bit better- smaller turquoise hex glitter mixed with larger silver hex glitter.

OPI Metallic 4 Life

OPI Metallic 4 Life
2 coats
from the Nicki Minaj Collection (Spring 2012)

Metallic 4 Life was sitting in my untried for some reason, so I pulled it out and gave it a go. It's a sheer black base packed with silver hex glitter and smaller silver square glitter. I got good coverage in just two coats, which is nice, because glitter packed polishes tend to check faster on me the more coats I apply. Although this was a bit thick, it wasn't too hard to work with and actually didn't dry all that bumpy. Although I'm not wearing any topcoat in the pic above, I suspect that a coat of Gelous would smooth it right out.

OPI Red Lights Ahead...Where?
2 coats

The formula on this one is fabulous- perfection! It's a really pretty red that leans a bit coral and I think looks great on skin tone. Love love love this one!

OPI Kiss Me on My Tulips

OPI Kiss Me on My Tulips
3 coats
included in the Dutch Treats mini set
from the Spring 2012 Holland collection

Although I love the name of this shade (such a cute pun!), the color is nothing special and it did take three coats for me to get good coverage. I know I've got several similar colors in my collection that are just 2 coaters. But the name, oh, it's so cute!

OPI Pedal Faster Suzi!

OPI Pedal Faster Suzi!
3 coats
included in the Dutch Treats mini set
from the Spring 2012 Holland collection

pic in shade

Pedal Faster Suzi! is a nice shimmery pink, but it did take three coats for me to get good coverage. I have seen some bloggers say it just took them two coats, but I wasn't pleased with just 2. I got great wear from this.... I actually ended up wearing it for about 4 days and it still looked great on day 4-5.
