Deborah Lippmann Raspberry Beret

Deborah Lippmann Raspberry Beret
2 coats

A few years ago, I purchased a Breast Cancer Awareness bag of goodies at Ulta and it included a mini bottle of Deborah Lippmann Raspberry Beret, a shade that was new to me. It appears that it originally appeared in the Deborah Lippmann  "She's Always a Woman Nail Polish Set" that was sold in late 2012.

With the recent passing of Prince, I suddenly remembered that I'd never gotten around to trying this shade and decided to remedy that. It's really pretty! It's described as "flecked berry 3D holographic". I'd call it a red-leaning berry containing irregular shaped iridescent flakes. Two coats gave me great coverage.

NOTD: OPI More Than a Glimmer

OPI More Than a Glimmer (1 coat)
over OPI Pink-ing Of You (2 coats)
topcoat added

both from the 2013 Pink of Hearts duo for Breast Cancer Awareness

photo taken in the shade
For this mani I started with 2 coats of Pink-ing Of You. Although the result was somewhat sheer and uneven, I figured that adding the glitter topper would cover those imperfections.

I found I got great glitter coverage with just one coat. Note that this glitter is made to dry matte...... but I decided I would rather have a smoother, shiny finish so I added a coat of NYC Grand Central Station as a topcoat.

The result was really pretty!

NOTD: OPI Pink-ing Of You

OPI Pink-ing Of You
3 coats

from the 2013 Pink of Hearts duo for Breast Cancer Awareness
Every year I try to buy OPI's BCA product. Last year they added a glitter polish to make a duo, and this year they did that again and added some decals. I'm a bit clumsy with nail art, so I'm not sure I will use the decals, but I do love the idea.

Pink-ing Of You was a bit sheer and required 3 thicker coats, and on some fingers I felt like I could have done 4 to get better coverage, but the laziness in me kicked in and I stopped at 3. Hopefully I'll have time and there will be some sun soon so I can give the glitter a try.

Ohhh...... I am usually not a pink lover, but China Glaze does glass fleck shades like these so well that I'm a convert. Endurance is a deep magenta glass fleck shimmer.
