China Glaze Crackle

Sugar High
Fault Line Crackle
The generous peeps at China Glaze sent me these two lovelies for review. I have to admit that I have not been a fan of the crackle trend since it came out. After applying a base, 2 coats of Sugar High, a coat of the crackle glaze Fault Line, and then a top coat, I was quite impressed with the final look. For someone like myself, who loves the bright bold nail colors, this little trend is growing on me. I can't wait to try this crackle on top of some of my favorite colors!! China Glaze always seems to put a smile on my face!!

Come check out my blog, dot...dot...dot... on Tuesday, June 14th for an exciting Summer Beauty Tour launch ... you will not wanna miss this!!

Nail Files: New Reality Series!

Earlier this year I had read that there would be a new reality show about nail polish and I made a mental note to watch for it. This week I opened my TV Guide (I've been reading faithfully since we spent the summer wondering Who Shot JR????) and yay! There was the info!

Nail Files is the first reality show that features a nail salon owner. The series follows Katie Cazorla, a young blonde bombshell who owns Hollywood’s fastest growing celebrity-filled nail salon while juggling her relationship with Walter Afanasieff, a Grammy® award-winning music legend who’s written and produced hits for Mariah Carey, Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion and is 20 years her senior. The series follows high-spirited and energetic Katie as she aspires to take The Painted Nail to the next level.

Nail Files premieres on Tuesday, June 21st on TV Guide Network.

I'm off to "Like" the Nail Files page on Facebook- I understand that information about the show and the mobile spa tour will be released there.

Will you be watching?

NOTD: OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston

OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston

from the Texas Collection

I am in love with these "sorbets"! The above swatch is four coats, and I'll tell you right now, it's totally worth it to me- I LOVE how this polish looks.

I think they photography really well, and I totally want to point out the white sparklies (forgot the technical name) and tell you I did NOT add those in- that's just the reflection in the sunlight. Gorgeous!

NOTD: Essie Smooth Sailing

Essie Smooth Sailing from the Braziliant collection (click to enlarge)

I picked this up at Target over the weekend, and I am so glad I did! It's really pretty. In the bottle you can see teal and purple shimmers, but they don't show up on the nail. Still.... great color. The application was great- smooth and even in just two coats.

I have never been a fan of neutral nails shades.... but this color seems to really suit my light olive skin. I can't believe I am saying this, but I REALLY like it!

NOTD: Sephora by OPI A Color That Can't Be Tamed

Today I have a third shade from the Sephora by OPI Safari Luxe collection.

Sephora by OPI A Color That Can't Be Tamed

opaque mint green with fine holographic glitter

The above swatch is three coats.

This is gorgeous and perfect for spring. I'm usually not a big fan of mint greens on me, but this shade is mild enough to seem more neutral than you'd think a mint green would be.

Michelle Monaghan's Nails at the Met Ball

Michelle Monaghan, current star of the Source Code, hit the red carpet at the Met Ball this week wearing Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Pat On The Black.

Michelle’s stylist and Sally Hansen’s Style Advisor, Mary Alice Stephenson, chose the chic shade, revealing, "I love how the dark polish gives a very McQueen edge to all that gorgeous Derek Lam pink that Michelle is wearing. The right nail polish is just as important as picking the perfect clutch, shoes or jewelry. Nail color instantly changes a look and is a fast and easy way to make any outfit look more special whether you want to add drama or be a bit more demure!"

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure is an all-in-one formula that combines the 5 steps of a professional salon manicure in a single multi-tasking polish.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure is $7.99 and available at drugstores nationwide.

Two shades from the Sephora by OPI Safari Luxe collection

Today I want to show you two shades from the Sephora by OPI Safari Luxe collection.

Once a Cheetah, Always a Cheetah

opaque orange with medium gold glitter

(click to enlarge- YOU MUST! The multi-colored shimmers are hard to see, but they are there! so pretty!)

I Don't Bite

opaque soft purple with fine holographic glitter

I love both of these so much and I can't wait to swatch the rest of the collection (I bought the whole thing!).

I must tell you that Mr. Sasha was not a fan of the orange color..... but I liked it. I don't have anything else like it in my collection. The purple is absolutely gorgeous and especially so in the sun.

Swatches: Nicole by OPI Something About Spring Collection

Hi! Sasha here!

Today I have three shades from the Nicole by OPI Something about Spring Collection.

You're S-teal the One

three coats

This one applied beautifully! The VNL wasn't really apparent until I got in direct sunlight. Indoors, it wasn't noticeable at all. Loved this color!

Nicole's Nickel

two coats

This one was gorgeous- love the multiple sizes of glitter. And this wasn't bad to remove at all- the scrubby tub removed the polish with absolutely no problem and left no glittery residue on my hands.

Brilliant Idea

two coats

I think this one could have used another coat, but was still pretty at two. I bet this would be great used as a topcoat.....

Nicole by OPI believes once you respect yourself, you can shade it with the rest of the world. Nicole by OPI nail lacquers are free of DBP, toulene, and formaldehyde and are packaged in recyclable glass bottles.

The Something About Spring collection launched exclusively at Target in March 2011, and feature irresistible shades that bring a bursts of color and feel-good energy to any look. They retail for $6.99 each.

Disclosure: These shades were sent to me for review purposes.

NOTD: Borghese Rapido Fast Dry Lacquer in Siena

Borghese Rapido Fast Dry Lacquer in Siena

When I got this shade in the mail to review, I was so excited because it looked so similar to one of my old favorites, L'Oreal Sheer Heat, a favorite of mine from the mid-90s. I still have mine, but age has done a number on it, and it won't quite dry anymore. It's pretty thin already, so I don't think thinner will help. I have been disappointed that I can't wear this shade anymore!

And to my delight, it's actually pretty similar! Similar enough to take the place of Sheer Heat for me! The above swatch is three coats, and I do think it would have had more color at four, but I am just fine with a little sheerness, because that's one of the things I loved about Sheer Heat.

The Borghese Rapido Fast Dry Nail Lacquer collection is a quick-drying formula that is available in long-lasting colors. Borghese invites you to discover the new Rapido Fast Dry Lacquer collection in bold brights and chic Italian neutrals. Evoking all the vivid colors of a garden in bloom, and the sophisticated hues of city style, Borghese’s new nail lacquers complement every wardrobe.

These long-wearing, nail-strengthening lacquers contain Borghese’s exclusive Aqua di Vita complex to help restore moisture and balance, while Micronized Gemstones add strength and brilliance. Each shade comes with a special Duale Curve Tip Brush custom designed to hug the shape of your nail for smooth, flawless application that lasts up to seven days. The rich, saturated hues are free of DBP’s, Toluene and added Formaldehyde.

The Borghese Rapido Fast Dry Lacquer Collection includes:

Vigneto
Marino
Mochaccino
Chroma
Lira
Menta
Violetto
Maraschino
Siena
Rosso
Anemone
Limoncello
