Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in Speed Dating

Yay! The sun finally came out!

Since Friday is Valentine's Day, I thought a heart mani would be perfect. In my stash I had this set of nail polish strips and I applied them this morning while watching last week's Nashville (SO good!). I thought they turned out nice and are so festive!

This pattern is definitely from either last year or the year before, and it's looks like it is no longer available. But there is a really cute one called Heart Breaker that has skull and crossbones and hearts! I need that one for sure.

Swatches: Halloween Sally Hansen Real Nail Polish Strips

Have you seen the new 2012 Halloween prints for the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips? They are SO cute! Today I've got two of the prints to show you and will have the other two I have to show you in the next few days.

 Batty For You

How Corny

I always get better results and find the lighter background prints to be easiest to apply, so How Corny is my favorite of the two shown above. I liked Batty For You as well, but the darker background prints require a little more patience since it really shows if you don't get perfect application on the tips. I think I did a good job, but I spent a bit more time with Batty For You than I did with How Corny. Both are so fun and I got quite a few "How cute!" comments when people saw my nails.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in Zip It!

from the Rock of Ages collection

I have absolutely got to go see the movie "Rock of Ages" this week... especially since I have on another pattern from the Rock of Ages collection today. I download the soundtrack from the movie earlier today and am loving it. I already had the Original Broadway Cast Recording and it's fabulous as well.

This pattern applied so easily.... I think I spent less than 10 minutes on both hands and I am so pleased with the result. For some reason the side of my ring finger nail looks lifted... but I think it's just the lighting because it's not lifting at all.

So has anyone seen the movie yet? What did you think?

NOTD: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in Sticks and Stones

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in Sticks and Stones
from the Rock of Ages collection

How fun is this print? Fun trivia: Yesterday the check-out clerk at Braum's told me that the print was the same print as Eddie Van Halen's guitar. I googled and of course he was right! How perfectly does that tie in with the Rock of Ages theme? Love it.

It had been awhile since I had last applied nail strips... but once I got going it went great. These are much more foil-based than the other prints I've tried and so eye-catching. Can't wait to try the other prints I got- Zip It! and Fingerlace Gloves.

"Rock of Ages" Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips

In April of 2009, Mr. Sasha and I traveled to NYC for the first time and I wanted our first Broadway show to be something special. I had heard of a musical called Rock of Ages that had just opened that March and it sounded perfect for us so we bought tickets AND IT WAS FABULOUS!

In 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl met a big city rocker and in LA’s most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the 80s. It’s ROCK OF AGES, an arena-rock love story told through the mind-blowing, face-melting hits of Journey, Bon Jovi, Foreigner and many more. Don’t miss this awesomely good time about dreaming big, playing loud and partying on.

ROCK OF AGES takes audiences on a musical joyride set to blazing hits from iconic rockers such as Journey, Bon Jovi, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, Whitesnake and many more. Crowds and critics agree—ROCK OF AGES is ”a nonstop party laden with sexy choreography, energetic performances and an on stage band that totally rocks the house" proclaims The Associated Press. The New York Post says, ”ROCK OF AGES does for 80s rock what Mamma Mia! did for ABBA.“

And of course you've probably heard that the movie version is being released on June 15. Of course, I plan on seeing it that weekend. Which reminds me, I need to find a babysitter... moving on...

So I was excited to get a press release from Sally Hansen showing the prints they've come up with to go along with the movie. I think these are so cute and can't wait to try them. I've already seen these in stock at my local Walgreen's.

I have tried the strips a few times and have LOVED the results- here are two of my favorite prints.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips in Ghoulie Girl

Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips in Ghoulie Girl

I have had two really good experiences using Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips. But this round did not go as well...... I can't put my finger on it (pun!) but they just didn't apply as easily and I also had trouble getting the edges to stay down.

It was quite a downer, because the design was adorable!
