Essie Capri

 Essie Capri
2 coats

I'm not much of a fashionista when it comes to clothes, but new nail polish collections? I am always in. When I heard that some Essie shades would be included in the Target/Lilly Pulitzer collaboration, I was pretty excited to check them out.

Then I figured out they were just re-releases of existing shades, with just a little Lilly Pulitzer hang tag added. I was disappointed, but decided to pick up one caught my eye that I didn't already have in my collection.

Capri is a great Spring shade, if not at all unique. I got good coverage in two coats, although on some fingers you can see my nail line and I suspect a third coat would have solved that.

SinfulColors Cauldron Couture

SinfulColors Cauldron Couture

Cauldron Couture  is part of the SinfulColors 2014 Halloween Collection called Wicked Color. This collection contains some "Tricked Out Top Coats" as well as "Halloween Favorites".

Cauldron Couture has metallic green and black flakes and glitter suspended in a clear base. I first tried it over black, and since you couldn't see the black flakes and glitter, that didn't work at all! Once I saw that Night Swatcher had used a gorgeous purple as her base, I knew I had to try that as well. Since I didn't have a SinfulColors purple in my collection, I grabbed China Glaze Fancy Pants (purchased by me) since I thought it was close in color to SinfulColors Let's Talk, also from the Halloween Collection.

I think the purple base looks great under the green and black- and it makes a great Halloween mani!

There are 14 "boo-tiful colors" in this collection, including four topcoats and 10 Halloween favorites. They are available exclusively at Walgreens and Target stores for $1.99. Earlier this week I swatched Mystery Moonshine and Pumpkin Spice.

SinfulColors Pumpkin Spice

SinfulColors Pumpkin Spice
4 coats

I think this shows the color of the glitter a bit better.

Pumpkin Spice is part of the SinfulColors 2014 Halloween Collection called Wicked Color. This collection contains some "Tricked Out Top Coats" as well as "Halloween Favorites". Pumpkin Spice is a re-release, as appears to be a bit different than prior versions. This version has gold and red-orange glitter in a sheer orange-pink base. Even with 4 coats, this version doesn't give full coverage, but it's still a cool look, and would work great as a glitter topper over another color too.

SinfulColors Mystery Moonshine

SinfulColors Mystery Moonshine
1 coat, dabbed over black

Mystery Moonshine is part of the SinfulColors 2014 Halloween Collection called Wicked Color. This collection contains some "sinfully tricked out topcoats".

I applied Mystery Moonshine over black and loved the effect I got. It contains confetti glitter in Fall shades of purple, orange and green. I was pleased to find that the confetti glitter flattened out well and all I needed was one coat of my usual topcoat, NYC Grand Central Station, to get a nice smooth surface.

Swatches: Nicole by OPI Something About Spring Collection

Hi! Sasha here!

Today I have three shades from the Nicole by OPI Something about Spring Collection.

You're S-teal the One

three coats

This one applied beautifully! The VNL wasn't really apparent until I got in direct sunlight. Indoors, it wasn't noticeable at all. Loved this color!

Nicole's Nickel

two coats

This one was gorgeous- love the multiple sizes of glitter. And this wasn't bad to remove at all- the scrubby tub removed the polish with absolutely no problem and left no glittery residue on my hands.

Brilliant Idea

two coats

I think this one could have used another coat, but was still pretty at two. I bet this would be great used as a topcoat.....

Nicole by OPI believes once you respect yourself, you can shade it with the rest of the world. Nicole by OPI nail lacquers are free of DBP, toulene, and formaldehyde and are packaged in recyclable glass bottles.

The Something About Spring collection launched exclusively at Target in March 2011, and feature irresistible shades that bring a bursts of color and feel-good energy to any look. They retail for $6.99 each.

Disclosure: These shades were sent to me for review purposes.

Target Introduces Holiday 2010 Collection from Sonia Kashuk

Reach for the Stars Nails Trio

Add a festive touch to your look with these glamorous holiday nail shades. Rich gold, burnished silver and sparkling ruby shades infused with subtle shimmer are perfect for celebrating the season.

The set, from Sonia Kashuk, will be available for $9.99 at Target.
The pretty shade, described as "rich gold", almost looks foil-like. I typically don't like golden shades with my skintone, but I thought this was quite wearable.

This shade is described as "burnished silver" and applied fabulously. The color reminded me of Zoya Loredana.

The last shade, described as "sparkling ruby" was also gorgeous. I thought this shade also was wearable for my warm skintone.

This was my first time to try Sonia Kashuk nail polish, and I was pleased. I thought the average price of $3.33 per bottle was a great value, and this set would be a good way to add some holiday colors to your collection.

Note that my bottles have no color names on them, so I referred to them as they were described in the press release.

L'Oreal Target Red

This new collection from L'Oreal is available at Target (I spotted the nail polish Wednesday) and I am dying to give it a try! Although I love spring colors, I am a sucker for a good red.
