Short-STOP! was the second shade I tried in the collection, and although it was a ground-breaking shade, it is still a nice medium red creamy shade and since it was the MLB collection I had to BUY ALL THE COLORS.

My absolutely favorite sport is baseball and I was so excited to see this collection!

I was excited to try one of the shades featured in the Stella McCartney Winter 2014 Collection fashion show at the Palais Garnier during Paris Fashion Week. Dermelect describes this shade as "metallic grey- ridges of grey matter derived from the oceanic crust".  I am afraid the word "ridges" is definitely well-used in the title..... this color left so many brushstrokes, it looks like ridges!

 

I really tried to like this one. I actually did three separate manis, on three separate days, to try to get this one to work. Sadly, I just wasn't pleased with it. Although the mani pictured above would have been improved by a third coat, I could already tell after just 2 that the brushstrokes would be too much.

Luckily, this was the one shade in this collection that gave me any problems. The rest I loved.

Dermelect describes this shade as "bold reflective orchid- plucked right out of a sandy beach house garden".  I was afraid since it is one of their "metal" colors, I would get brushstrokes. I was pretty pleased that brushstrokes were minimal.

On top of Radiance, Spotlight shows more silver. It's funny that it pulls both gold and silver depending on the base it is applied over. Below is a pic in the shade so you can see how well it covered in just one coat.

Yay for Spring! I picked this shade up at Sally Beauty last week and was so excited to wear it on a beautiful spring day! I found that I could still see my nail line after 2 coats, so I added a third to make it opaque. It dried a bit matte (I think because the pigment is sort of neon), so I added a topcoat to get a shiny finish.

Last week I got a special mailer from Sally Beauty reminding me to renew my club membership, and offering me a free Finger Paints polish if I did so. Yay! So of course I rushed to Sally Beauty and picked a shade from the newest Finger Paints collection called Rock My World.

 

Not only are these metallic, they are also textured. I am in love- it dried super fast and I think the texture effect looks great in this gorgeous lilac.
