NOTD: Essie Beach Bum Blue

Essie Beach Bum Blue

Excuse the setting sun pic, we had a long day yesterday and I didn't have a chance to take my pic until late.

This is one of the new Essies at Walmart. Although I do like it, it pulls quite turquoise on me. And since it's quite frosty, there are some apparent brush strokes as well.

However, the formula was divine and although coverage was quite spotty and streaky at one coat, the second coat evened it out nicely. I used SV and got absolutely no shrinkage.

NOTD: Avon Gunmetal

Avon Gunmetal

This is another new Avon shade and again, LOVE. It was almost perfect coverage in 1 coat. As i said before, I am always amazed at the quality of Avon polishes- their prices are so good (2 for $6 right now), you wouldn't expect such a top-notch product- but it is always so good!

NOTD: Incoco Dry Nail Applique in Tickle Pink

Incoco Dry Nail Applique in Tickle Pink

I recently was given the opportunity to try Incoco Dry Nail Applique.
Here is some info I received from Incoco:

Incoco Nail Polish strips are made from real nail polish – it’s not plastic or a sticker.

All of our products are DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde Free – including our neon shades!

Each glossy strip provides a base coat, color coat, and top coat – and can be removed with regular nail polish remover. And although there is a slight learning curve in the beginning, application can be completed in minutes!

We currently offer strips for color mani, French mani, pedi, French pedi, glitter, colored tips, glitter tips, chrome, neons, etc. And we have a lot of new exciting developments in the works.

Incoco Nail Polish Strips require zero drying time (they’re dry to touch), and usually last between 10-14 days, depending on the lifestyle of the wearer. They can be applied in the car, at work, before a date, for a wedding, and have been recently used on models for a runway
show.

I enjoyed giving them a try and although there is a slight learning curve, it is really a pretty easy process. Incoco offers a tutorial video on their website, and I found that really helpful.

Since I love to paint my nails, I have to admit that I didn't wait to see if the mani would last 10-14 days. I removed it on the third day, but I was excited to see that the mani had lasted through several showers and hair washings- amazing!

I think they would be great for travel- I read somewhere that another blogger even did an Incoco mani while on an airplane!

NOTD: Avon Night Violet

Avon Night Violet

So so so pretty! Sorry you are seeing a bit of tip wear. Crazy weather and a sick kiddo cut into my photo-taking time..... but I absolutely love this and am always amazed at the quality of Avon polishes- their prices are so good ($2.99 right now), you wouldn't expect such a top-notch product- but it is always so good!

Essie Coat Azure

Essie Coat Azure (retail version)

I never got the press release about Essie popping up in Walmart, but Polish or Perish has a great explanation of the new retail Essie line.

Although I live in a pretty metro area, neither of my Super Walmarts have Essie yet.... so I drove about 10 minutes north to another town to check out their display.

I picked up Dive Bar, Beach Bum Blue, both retail exclusives, and I also picked up Coat Azure, which is one of the new Spring 2011 shades that will be available in both the salon and retail lines.

The formula was excellent and identical to the Essie we know and love. Absolutely no complaints here!

NOTD: OPI Ali's Big Break

OPI Ali's Big Break

Somehow I have been so busy that I just now (Thursday afternoon) got around to taking a pic of Monday night's mani! I had some tip wear, and my nails had worn to a bit of a rounded edge, so I went ahead and filed them a bit to get back to a squoval shape.

This color is part of the new Burlesque collection and is so pretty! This is two coats.

NOTD: Revlon Top Speed Sugar Plum

Revlon Top Speed Sugar Plum

I can never resist plum or purple nail polish, so when I saw this at CVS, I snached it up.

So so pretty! I didn't really notice that it dried any faster than usual, but of course I topped it with my normal fast-dry topcoat.

It covered perfectly in just two coats.

Love!
Hope you have a Happy New Year!
