NOTD: OPI A Woman's Prague-ative

 OPI A Woman's Prague-ative
(3 coats)
from the Spring 2013 Euro Centrale Collection

In this blurry shot, you can see the gorgeous glow!

A Woman's Prague-ative is a pretty orange-copper with gold and red shimmer. I found I needed 3 coats to get complete coverage, but this one applied so nicely I didn't mind. I thought this might be nice for Halloween week. I remember when this collection came out I thought this was a perfect fall shade.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Triple Shine in Sparks Fly

Sally Hansen Triple Shine in Sparks Fly (2 coats)
over
Sally Hansen Smooth & Perfect Color + Care in Air (1 coat)

 lighting: sun

lighting: shade

Sparks Fly is a sheer dark blue polish filled with three sizes of silver glitter- larger hex, small hex, and micro glitters. Just as I found with Fanta-Sea, this was so sheer that I decided I'd like it better over a solid color. I chose Air again because I thought the delicate light blue would compliment Spark Fly well. Since there was so much glitter in Sparks Fly, I decided to try just one coat of  Air and I was pleased to find that worked fine.

The sheer dark blue base gave a gorgeous tint to Air. I got pretty good glitter coverage in one coat, but added a second to get some major bling. Again, I was totally surprised to find that with just one coat of NYC Grand Central Station, this was perfectly smooth. I expected a glitter like this to need extra coats to feel smooth, but was pleasantly surprised when it didn't.

Sally Hansen Smooth & Perfect Color + Care in Air (2 coats)

Fanta-Sea is a gorgeous sheer polish filled with silver and teal micro glitters. I first tried it by itself, but the coverage was so sheer that I decided I'd like it better over a solid color. I chose Air because I thought the delicate light blue would compliment Fanta-Sea well.

One thing that totally surprised me was that with just one coat of NYC Grand Central Station, this was perfectly smooth. I expected a glitter like this to need extra coats to feel smooth, but was pleasantly surprised when it didn't.

NOTD: SinfulColors Ruby Mine

Today I've got another shade, Ruby Mine, from the SinfulColors Crystal Crushes collection, released this fall. These shades are textured and meant to be worn without topcoat.

As with Got A Blush on You, Ruby Mine also applied super easy. I got pretty great coverage in one coat, but added two to make sure I had the intended color and finish. I REALLY like Ruby Mine- of the two it's definitely my favorite.

I did note that the bottle did not mention that this was meant to be worn without topcoat. I wonder if the display these shades will be in will mention that? I wish that SinfulColors had noted this feature on the bottles, like OPI did with Liquid Sand and China Glaze did with their Texture Coat. I'm just afraid these will get mixed in my collection and I won't recall that they have the texture feature until I use it.

NOTD: OPI More Than a Glimmer

OPI More Than a Glimmer (1 coat)
over OPI Pink-ing Of You (2 coats)
topcoat added

both from the 2013 Pink of Hearts duo for Breast Cancer Awareness

photo taken in the shade
For this mani I started with 2 coats of Pink-ing Of You. Although the result was somewhat sheer and uneven, I figured that adding the glitter topper would cover those imperfections.

I found I got great glitter coverage with just one coat. Note that this glitter is made to dry matte...... but I decided I would rather have a smoother, shiny finish so I added a coat of NYC Grand Central Station as a topcoat.

The result was really pretty!

NOTD: CoverGirl Seared Bronze

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis in Seared Bronze
3 coats
photo taken in sun

photo taken in shade

You can really see the different shades in this macro shot. It's gorgeous. Some bloggers are saying it's a dupe for OPI Warm & Fozzie from the Muppets collection, but I think this one has more depth, especially in the shade.

Seared Bronze is part of the CoverGirl + Hunger Games Catching Fire collection. Since I am absolutely obsessed with Hunger Games (already bought my opening night movie ticket!) I was so excited to see this collection!

Seared Bronze is used in the District 2 (Masonry) look as well as District 7 (Lumber).

I am thinking I need to look into getting all the colors in this collection since I'm such a fan of the movie.

Note that Glosstinis are definitely in the mini bottle category at just .11 ounce. I didn't have too much trouble with the brush, although it was short as mini bottle brushes tend to be.

KarenD has swatches of all 9 shades in this collection.

NOTD: OPI Pink-ing Of You

OPI Pink-ing Of You
3 coats

from the 2013 Pink of Hearts duo for Breast Cancer Awareness
Every year I try to buy OPI's BCA product. Last year they added a glitter polish to make a duo, and this year they did that again and added some decals. I'm a bit clumsy with nail art, so I'm not sure I will use the decals, but I do love the idea.

Pink-ing Of You was a bit sheer and required 3 thicker coats, and on some fingers I felt like I could have done 4 to get better coverage, but the laziness in me kicked in and I stopped at 3. Hopefully I'll have time and there will be some sun soon so I can give the glitter a try.

NOTD: Sephora X Ariel

Sephora X Ariel (1 coat)
over Devotin' To Floatin' (2 coats)
photo taken in the shade

both from Sephora's Ariel Whatcha-Nail-Callit 6 Piece Nail Set ($24.50)

Ariel is a gorgeous iridescent glitter top coat in a sheer turquoise base. In the shade you can really see the different colors of glitter. I got nice glitter coverage in just one coat, and I didn't find Ariel to be too thick. It actually dried pretty smooth, much to my surprise.

photo taken in the sun

In direct sunlight, the colors of glitter weren't as apparent. They gave more of a dimensional look, though, which was still pretty.
