Zoya Wonderful Collection Review

Happy Tuesday y'all! I hope you all had a nice weekend.

Today for you, I have the Fall 2010 Wonderful Collection from Zoya.

The Wonderful Collection consists of 6 creams that fall in perfectly
with the great quality we've come to appreciate from Zoya nail polish.

Everything you see below is 2 coats over a base coat. I tried to get sun shots, but we've been battling major rain here in MD, so I did the best I could. Ignore any brush strokes on the matte pictures. The particular bottle of matte I used was getting low, and unfortunately it showed on the nails.

First up, Kelly:

Kelly is described as a "paynes gray cream".

Kelly matte:

I had no idea what paynes gray meant, so after a quick Google search I discovered paynes is just a fancy name for a particular shade of gray. Go figure. :)

Kelly is really prettier than the picture above shows. I don't have another color anywhere similar in my collection, and that makes me happy. I'm going to assume the name comes from Kelly Osbourne who was on season 9 of DWTS. I think the color fits perfectly with her.

Next, we have Stacy:

Stacy is described as a "mahogany red cream".

Stacy matte:

I'm going to guess Stacy is named after Stacy Keibler from season 2 of DWTS . I wasn't too fond of Stacy in the bottle, but I really liked it on my nails. It was just red enough not to be brown, which I liked.

Third, Burke:

Burke is described as a "sienna red cream".

Burke matte:

Guessing again, I'm going to go with this polish being
named after Cheryl Burke, a 2 time winner of DWTS.

I myself wouldn't consider this as a sienna red color. Thinking back to my 1980's era Crayola box, sienna was more brown than this. I would call this berry, for sure. Regardless of what descriptive color words are used, this color is poppin' pretty and makes me smile when I look at it!

Fourth, Kristi:

Kristi is described as a "crimson red cream".

Kristi matte:

Kristi after season 6 DWTS winner and skating great Kristi Yamaguchi? Yeah, I bet it is. :)

Y'all know I hate reds. I avoid them like the plague. You can scroll back through all my posts, and you might see one time I've liked a red polish. Take notice, I LOVE THIS COLOR!!!! In the bottle, it doesn't look all that, but on my nails, this was a fire-engine red that screamed for attention. GORGEOUS! This will be my go-to red, whenever I want a go-to red that is.

Almost done, hang in there.

Fifth we have Cola:

Cola is described as a "desert sand red cream".

Cola matte:

Um, I'm at a loss for a DWTS tie in, unless they drink soda while judging?
No wait, that's American Idol. Yeah, I'm stretching here.

This is what I think of when I think of sienna; more brown with just a little hint of red. This was probably my least favorite of both collections. I like browns, but when they get too dark it's too much for me.

Finally, Shawn:

Shawn is described as a "myrtle green cream".

Shawn matte:

Sticking with the theme, I'll pick Shawn Johnson, season 8 DWTS winner for $500 Alex.

Ahem, sorry.

I'm not sure what myrtle green is. The only myrtle I know is the Crepe Myrtle tree we have around here. Those are pink though. This polish is not pink, by any means! Another blogger described it as army green, but that doesn't work for me either; maybe a deeper green pigmented olive drab is the description that fits best to me. Regardless, it's much, much prettier than the pictures show. The shine it rocked was intense, and when matted it looked like a brand new chalkboard. I really loved the way it looked!

Every one of these polishes dried incredibly quickly, as we've come to expect with Zoya. The shine was incredible and none of the polishes were too thick or too thin during application. I think Zoya may just be one of the most perfect polishes around!

Come back tomorrow for the Wicked collection. One word people; SPARKLES!!!!

Kristi is really pretty! I thought I'd like Burke more from looking at it in the bottle, but I'm just kinda "meh" over the swatches of it.
