Fun with Layering Friday 7

Today for Fun with Layering Friday,
I'm doing something a little different.

Instead of just one color over another, I'm going to show you all the different sparkle Top Coats I have. There are 8 total Top Coats, and I placed one on each finger. I took pictures of each hand after each coat of the Top Coat, up to three coats, so that you can see how it changes after each coat.

Feel free to click to make the pictures larger so you can see all the different colors. Please ignore the owie on the index finger of my right hand, the dryness on the ring finger of my right hand, and any black polish I failed to clean off my skin.

Each Top Coat was layered over two coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather:
First up, my left hand!

From L to R: Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure, Cover Girl City Lights,
China Glaze Golden Enchantment, and China Glaze Fairy Dust

The same order is seen below on my nails.

One coat:

Two coats:

Three coats:

Oh my stars! It's quite obvious that the Cover Girl top coat is insanely dense. It's also the only one that is bumpy. It's kind of ridiculous to need another top coat to smooth out a top coat. China Glaze Fairy Dust has a nice subtle multi-color glitter that comes out nicely in the sun. It just looks like normal silver glitter in the shade. I wasn't impressed with China Glaze Golden Enchantment, but Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure made up for it in spades.

Now for the right hand!

From L to R: China Glaze Wireless Holographic Top Coat, ORLY Prisma Gloss Gold,
Cover Girl Crystal Mist, and Zoya Sparkle Gloss Top Coat

The same order is seen below on my hand.

One coat:

Two coats:

Three coats:

This Cover Girl top coat didn't cover near as densely as the other one did. I think it looks better because it didn't! It was however just as bumpy as the other. ICK! The China Glaze Wireless Holographic top coat was the dense one this time; almost too dense. ORLY's Prisma Gloss Gold was a disappointment, providing hardly any coverage. Zoya's Sparkle Gloss provided coverage, but no real bling.

Which one is your favorite?

Love me some hidden treasure! It almost makes the black look brown/red.

Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure because it's so different from what I would've expected.

I LOVE this post! It's wonderful being able to see different glitter top coats side by side to really compare them. I had no idea City Lights was so dense!
