NOTD: Tip Toe Gold Rush

This is a cheapy I came across in Old Navy the other day, they had several different colors on sale for $1.49, but this is the only one that looked remotely interesting.

Gold Rush is primarily a bronze shimmer/micro glitter, but what made it so interesting is that it is in a light lavender base which makes it a subtle duochrome. It was very hard to capture the lavender flash though.

If you click on the pics to enlarge, you can sort of see the purple.

The quality of Gold Rush left a lot to be desired, but I wasn't expecting much out of a polish sold at Old Navy, so I wasn't disappointed. The brush was a glorified mop, but the consistency of the polish was good which made it easy to control on the nail. I used 1 coat Orly Bonder, 1 coat Essie Fill The Gap, 2 coats Gold Rush, and 1 coat SV. I imagine that if I hadn't used SV, my mani wouldn't have lasted an hour. With the top coat, it lasted about half the day before it started chipping and showing wear. This will be good for a night out, but not much more. I do like the color, so I don't regret spending the $1.49, LOL.

ETA: I was able to get a picture of the purple side of this polish on a tape swatch:

The one on the right, obviously, lol. The color on the left is a teaser of my NEXT NOTD!

Also, I have recently swatched EVERY. SINGLE. ONE of my polishes on tape on my arm (like the pic above). There are about 130. Raise your hand in the comment section if you want me to post the pics ... ;)

Didn't realize Old Navy sold polishes! I don't shop there often but when I have, I don't remember seeing it. Interesting!

I like the color but I really don't see the lavendar in it at all.

I'm raising my hand to see your polish swatches!
