Here's a Mini Mani presented by The Divine Miss M. She chose the pink color and named it Bright Pink (she's so imaginative! LOL!). Honestly, these pics SUCK. Especially of this color. It's, as the name suggests, a very bright pink color loaded with shimmer. Maybe we'll have some sun tomorrow so I can get a better pic (if she hasn't chewed it all off by then :( my poor baby is a nail biter just like I was when I was a kid).
This was practically a 1 coater too. Very cool for such a cheapy. It dried really fast as well, which I'll get into more when I talk about the other color. When I added SV, this color truly came alive. That's when all the shimmer just popped out an smacked me in the face. A shame this pic shows none of that.
Ok, next topic:
Has anyone else been looking at other blogger pics of the Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection and just had a nagging feeling that something was missing? I know I have. Well, tonight I found it in a teeny bottle of unnamed green polish. I present to you Emerald City!!
Ahh, the let down of my poor photography skills and $69 point and shoot (It's a GE. Who ever knew that GE made cameras?!? Leave it to my dear husband to find the most obscure camera ever, lol. It does have excellent reviews though, and is SOOO much better than my old Krapdak circa 2002, so please trust me when I say that I am NOT complaining!). I want you all to come to my house to look at my nails. This green is so vivid and packed with green microglitter and is also slightly pearlescent. Just like Bright Pink, it really came alive when I added the top coat, that lit from within quality that is so rare. I can't believe this is a shitty Claire's no name polish, lol!! It belongs in the China Glaze set for sure.
The color is pretty in this pic, but imagine it brighter ...
Twinkling in the light of the Christmas tree ... glinting ceaselessly.
I love it.
The only real complaints I have about this one have to do with the fact that mini brushes are hard to handle (especially in my enormous hands ... really long fingers + teeny tiny brush = awkwaaaard ... ), pearlized polishes are streaky/brush strokey (this one isn't *that* bad though, only slightly), and the dry time. The dry time is actually my main complaint. It was too fast. The polish was drying around the inside of the neck of the bottle as I was painting. That resulted in little chunks of dry polish getting on the brush as I dipped and wiped, thus being deposited on the nail as I painted. So I have a couple dark specks on some of my nails. Also, most of the visible brush strokes are due to the polish drying too fast thus rendering me unable to smooth them out. Not really that big a deal.
Anyway, here's to hoping there's sun tomorrow because I think both these little gems deserve some attention under natural light.
If you want to pick them up for yourself, hurry to Claire's soon. This is packaged as a little holiday set and is clearanced to 75% off. I paid less than $2 for it.

I TOTALLY agree with you - where is Emerald City in the Wizard of Oh Ahz collection??? I have been wishing there was one (something similar to Emerald Sparkle) and wondering why there isn't. It should be as significant as Ruby Pumps, IMO. Thanks for finding a perfect addition to the collection :)
I thought that there should have been a polish to match the witches complexion. What was wrong with that? I like this green, looks fantastic on you. Your daughters manicure is lovely. Very pretty color on her.
I do like both colors but the pink looks kinda orangey to me and I'm not an orange kinda girl. At all. I'd like to see it in more direct sunlight before making a final determination as to just how much I like it.
I love the green color. It looks like the perfect color for St. Patty's Day!
