Announcement and Giveaway

First, the announcement.

Sometime shortly after Thanksgiving, Mr. Smoochiefrog and I were having a conversation about my polish addiction collection. I tried to make it better by telling him about the people who have over 300+ bottles of polish, but it fell on deaf ears. (I just recently found a blog where the writer has over 800+ bottles of polish!) He made some statements about how I wouldn't make it if I were forced to go without buying polish for any amount of time. In my infinite wisdom, I said the two words any sane person should never utter:

"Wanna Bet?"

You can already see where this is headed, right?

By the time we went to bed, we had drafted up a contract outlining the details of our bet.

Basically the rules are as such:

• I cannot buy polish for a predetermined amount of time.
• If I fail to make it to the predetermined end date of the wager, he wins a $110 gift card to Best Buy.
• If I do survive this time of hell on earth, I win a $110 gift card to ULTA (I'm trying to get this changed to a simple VISA card for online polish purchasing ease. :P)

The period of time?

I have to refrain from buying polish for myself for
ALL of 2010.

Yes people, you read that right.

52 weeks
(which is where the $110 dollar amount came from-$2 a week)

365 days

WITHOUT BUYING POLISH FOR MYSELF!!!!!!!!

Oy, I can feel the shakes coming on now.

So maybe now you can understand why
I went on a spree on New Year's Eve. :)

Of course we went through and counted every last bottle of polish and top coat so we had a total number to refer to at the end of the year. I was more surprised at the amount of polish I haven't swatched here on the blog than I was at the total number of polishes I own. This information is what brings me to the giveaway portion of this post. ;P

Below you will see photos of the cabinet under my bathroom sink where I keep all my polishes. Before you ask, yes I am quite OCD. Every polish brand is in a row to itself and each brand is in alphabetical order. Also, those I haven't swatched are separate from those I have already shared (but still shown in the pictures). There are polishes in the boxes in the back corner, but they're not in rows as I don't have the room at this time. My OPI's take up too much space. :)

I intentionally didn't give y'all a view from above as that would just make the contest too easy.


The Contest:

There are actually 3 steps to enter this giveaway.

1. Guess how many polishes I have altogether (including top coats)
   
2. Guess how many OPI polishes I have that I haven't swatched yet (this includes all OPI DS polishes, Reflection Glitters, Suedes, and originals)
   
3. Guess how many unswatched polishes I have total (this number should include the number you guess for number 2 above)

IMPORTANT: The numbers need to include all the recent purchases I have made and posted about. If you need to be reminded of those buys, go here and here.

DISCLAIMER: I have purposely not posted any color of the week posts due to the planning of this contest. Any posts I make after this contest is launched WILL NOT affect the correct answers.
For example: If the number of unswatched OPI polishes I have is 535 and I post 5 swatches of OPI colors in the next week, the correct answer is still 535 as that was the number when the contest launched. Any questions can be directed to me via email .
