My favorite holiday tradition is putting up the tree with my family. We get together and put the ornaments on slowly, remembering when we acquired each one. It is nice because it always brings back lots of memories.

On Christmas Eve every year we have a "food theme." My family and his family comes over. Last year it was "Greek" - we all make an authentic dish. (We had Gyros, Baklava, etc) Then at the end of the night we write on post it notes what we want next years theme to be and we pick one. The rule is you HAVE to go with the first picked. This year will be "homemade pizza's"! Years past we've done Italian and Mexican.

I guess the only "real" tradition we have is that we spend it as a family. But our biggest tradition after that would be presents on Christmas morning followed by a big meal of family favorites.

My favorite Christmas tradition is going to Ihop with my family in the morning for breakfast. We go to mass sometimes but not every year since my church doesn't do it every year. What makes this time special is that everyone seems happy and there is a sense of togetherness.

Great giveway! Especially since these Ulta exclusives won't be available everywhere.

My favourite holiday tradition is quite simple. Every Christmas we celebrate one day with my SO's parents and one day with mine. My parents live a couple of hours away and my favourite thing during the holiday are those hours we spend alone, together in the car driving from and to my parents.

We bring a christmas CD, hot chocolate and something small to eat, a snack for the dogs and just have enormous amounts of fun.
I insist on decorating the car, SO resists but in the end we always drive around with christmas decorations and even though he will never admit it, he loves it.

It's just nice to have that time together during all the drama of those hectic holidays.

When I was a kid, everyone in the family would receive a new pair of pajamas for Christmas and we would wear them on New Year's Eve when the clock struck 12. Wearing something new when the New Year come's in is supposed to guarantee health and wealth. Now, we just wear something new (preferably something you got for Christmas). No matter where anyone is in my family on NYE, best believe they're wearing something new!

Christmas Eve we go to church and then later that evening an "elf" rings the doorbell and leaves new PJs for my kids to wear the next morning. Then, we make hot chocolate, hop in the car and cruise around looking at all of the Christmas lights & decorations. When we get back home, we read "Twas the Night before Christmas," and then we read the story of Jesus's birth from Luke. I love Christmas!

my fave tradition in our country are when we put xmas decorations... and we have this tradition called "Simbang Gabi" a Filipino Christmas tradition, it is is a series of nine (9) dawn masses, the mass starts as early as 4:00 a.m. It begins on December 16 and ends on the midnight of the 24th of December, which is the midnight mass..This tradition was introduced by the Spanish friars to allow the farmers to hear mass before going to the fields early in the morning. Simbang Gabi is also known by its popular Spanish name as the Misa de Gallo, or ``mass of the rooster.''

In the olden days, the church bells start ringing as early as three o' clock waking people up so they can get ready for the four o'clock dawn mass.

The Roman Catholic churches across the nation start to open their doors shortly before the break of dawn to welcome the faithfuls to the Simbang Gabi mass.

we also have this traditions In urban areas, especially in Metro Manila, many schools and offices organize Christmas parties, which are usually held during the second week of December, or right before schools and universities go on holiday. Common activities include Kris Kringle, song and dance numbers, a skit or play, and parlor games. Food is provided either through a potluck, or via monetary contributions to buy food..

For Filipinos, Christmas Eve ("Bisperas ng Pasko") on December 24th is celebrated with the Midnight Mass, and immediately after, the much-anticipated Noche Buena – the traditional Christmas Eve feast. Family members dine together around 12 midnight on traditional Noche Buena fare, which includes: queso de bola (Spanish: "ball of cheese"; this is actually edam cheese), "Tsokolate" (a hot chocolate drink) and hamon (Christmas ham). Some would also open presents at this time... oh now im Here in Abu Dhabi (Muslim country which dont celebrate xmas... i miss my hometown...

My favorite Christmas tradition is putting up the tree while listening to our mini tree sing Christmas songs...it always makes us laugh and puts us in the Christmas mood.

We read the Christmas story in Luke 2:1-20 in the afternoon on christmas eve. I try to make this a time of thinking about the real meaning of christmas. Then we have gifts and Santa and food and drink and all that is merry. But the time when the family is gathered, reading about christmas, that is very special to me!

Our is the tree. And I use that term loosely. It started one year when I was little where we couldn't get a tree and knowing how disappointed we all were, my mom made one from tinsel. From then on, each Christmas we'd have Christmas trees of different mediums or just a different type of plant in lieu of our tree. It also makes hanging the ornaments a fun challenge. Last year we used a Money Tree.

Most of our traditions are centered around food. Every year we make cutout cookies to decorate together and with friends; Christmas Eve we serve Tourtiere, a french Acadian meat pie; and for breakfast Christmas morning there are sticky buns..it isn't Christmas with out the sticky buns!

My family doesn't really have any kind of traditions for Christmas or any other holiday.

The only tradition I can think of is that we always go out looking at how people decorate their houses with Christmas lights. This is usually done on Christmas Eve but not always.

I haven't had a holiday tradition for years...It's been a sad time for me for way too long as I lost my mother just before Christmas many years ago.
This year, 20 years later, I am finally feeling the spirit and I believe it is because I am renewing one of my mother's traditions: At home we will have a large bowl filled with nuts in their shells and tangerines and apples and oranges. There will be nutcrackers handy for sitting and nibbling as you wish. This will also be my holiday "visiting" gift for when I go to visit friends and family. I will purchase or create a nice bowl to fill as described and leave it as a gift for them to keep and hopefully continue to fill every holiday. And if I visit someone I've already gifted, I'll make sure to include nuts and fruit in my care package.
I miss my mom, but now her memory will be there, every day of the season.

After the dinner, if there are no small children we deliver ourselves the gifts. If there are children, we wait on the following morning to open them.

After the dinner, the young men always we go out from party to discotheques where holidays parties are organized by caps of Christmas ^^

I love Christmas so I have a ton, but my favorite is putting up my Christmas Wall. My Grandmom and my Aunt has made meet a lot of Cross Stitch Christmas work in Frames and we hang it up every year and remember when they were given to me. Its such a beautiful focal point and people are amazed at the work. I even did 3 of them many years ago.

My favorite holiday tradition is to buy all 4 kids new PJs. I always try to make them somewhat match and then the kids are allowed to open them on Christmas Eve so they have something new and fuzzy to wear Christmas morning. :)

Every year we make a gingerbread house and do a holiday ring. This year, we got the girls their own tree and they are making all of their own decorations. I see that tradition lasting for a very long time.

Our fave tradition is tagging a tree on a tree farm in November, then going to cut it down the second week of December. We always had to buy our trees from lots when I was growing up in FL, and this is so much more fun! : )

My favorite holiday tradition started when I was a little kid. The night before Christmas Eve we get in our pajamas, make a big mug of cocoa and get in the car covered up in blankets and drive around looking at Christmas lights and listening to Christmas music. My husband thinks its a silly tradition but now that we have a son he likes it all of sudden!

Holidays are not much of a big deal but I have a tenderness for Christmas decorations. Lights, glass balls, etc. I love putting them in my place during that time and transform the place with the lights. Magic lights is truly what makes this moment so special. :)
We also give gifts at midnight precise with my sister.

My favorite tradition is that we go up to North Carolina and cut down our own Christmas tree. Afterward, we stop and have lunch and enjoy the Christmas decorations.

My favourite X-mas tradition is first decorate the house and second, if I'm going to my Polish family is to make them their special borsh with pirogis ( a sort of raviolis with sauerkraut in it). My sister in law is doing he best part but hardest one, make a special cake with poppy grains. It's nothing to do with traditional meals like turkey...

I am very bad at remembering stuff from my childhood, but one thing i do remember is christmas eve celebrations at my grandparents home. All my moms family (all 10 siblings and fam!!) will get together and eat tamales and bunuelos it was great! But what i rember the most is the my cousins and I will stay up and stare at the clock til it was 12am so we could open our presents. We didn't believe inn Santa, so our presents had been under the three tempting us, but at midnight we got to open them. It was so much fun!
